2 Riverbank "Mudhut" Rooms

A one-of-a-kind space to unwind and refresh. Secluded & spacious with river views & ensuite bathroom. Each room has a double bed, with extra single beds or bunkbeds. Equipped with a fan & solar-power lighting.

1 Family River View Banda

The perfect space for a family or group of friends who want to all be under one roof; Two rooms - one double & one triple with an ensuite bathroom. Secluded & spacious with river views. Equipped with a fan & solar-power lighting.

1 Forest View Banda

Nestled amongst the trees this banda has one double bed and an additional single bed with an ensuite bathroom. Equipped with a fan & solar-power lighting.

1 Double Forest View Tent

Nestled amongst the elephant trails & forest, this large canvas tent has a double bed & ensuite bathroom (located just behind the tent). Equipped with a fan & solar-power lighting.

3 Forest View Safari Tents

The affordable option. Comfortable large canvas tents dotted in the shade of the camp's woodland. Equipped with twin beds & solar-power lighting. Bathrooms are separate and shared.​​

4 Bush Dome Tents

Our budget option. These dome canvas tents are located close to our campsite. Set up with twin camp beds in each. Simple & comfortable, an authentic camping experience! Bathrooms are separate and shared.​​

Food & Drinks

Our menu offers authentic dishes made from a combination of locally-sourced & imported ingredients. Hearty, tasty food is especially important on safari & our chefs know how to put together some great dishes.

Candlelit dinners set beneath the starlit African sky are a highlight & provide the perfect time to relax & compare wildlife encounters with other guests.

Our riverbank bar has a chilled atmosphere, stocks Tanzanian beers, & a selection of wines & spirits. It's a great place to kick back, relax & watch nature unfold. There truly is nothing better than a G&T by the river watching the sun go down.

With spectacular views of the river and being surrounded by nature, simply visiting the Selous River Camp will give you the safari experience.

Getting here

There are a number of ways to get to Selous River Camp which cover a range of budgets; We can book you a short flight from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar, arrange a transfer by road from Dar (this takes approximately 4-5 hours), or you can try the local bus to Mloka village where we can collect you. The Slow Leopard Dar team can help you book bus tickets & organize a taxi/bajaj to the station.

For self-driving guests, we have ample on-site parking with 24 hour security. Google maps will give you driving directions from Dar es Salaam that will get you right to our front door. You can check out the route here.
