Campsite
For the adventurers who come equipped - bring your own tent and gear and stay in our campsite. You'll have access to campsite bathroom facilities and our shared spaces, including the bar, campfire, pool, and riverfront view. Upgrade to meals with us if you don't feel like cooking.

Wilderness, Two Ways
Selous is one of the few places where your safari moves from open savannah to winding riverbanks—all in a single day. Watch elephants wander past your 4x4 in the morning, then drift past hippos and crocodiles as the sun sets over the Rufiji. It’s nature, unplugged and untamed.

Slow Down and Savour
Our Selous menu brings the best of The Slow food into a camping setting. Think delicious hearty stews, barbeque, and campfire classics, served family-style in the campsite. Legendary View
We share our site with our sister camp, Selous River Camp, and the campsite is just steps away from the bar, lounge, and pool — all with legendary views across a wide bend in the Rufiji River. Don’t miss sunset from camp — Selous almost always puts on a show.
Riverside Pool
Take a cue from the hippos and cool off in the water. Escape the heat or refresh after a long day’s game drive with a soak in the pool, overlooking the river and its resident hippo pods. A couple of poolside G&Ts and you might be as noisy as they are.

Getting There
There are a number of ways to get to our camp which cover a range of budgets; We can book you a short flight from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar, arrange a transfer by road from Dar (this takes approximately 4-5 hours), or you can try the local bus to Mloka village where we can collect you. The Slow Leopard Dar team can help you book bus tickets & organize a taxi/bajaj to the station.
For self-driving guests, we have ample on-site parking with 24 hour security. Google maps will give you driving directions from Dar es Salaam that will get you right to our front door.
