Day 2: Exploring Kilwa Ruins with an ocean picnic

09:00 AM – Set off for a full-day on the water exploring the magical Kilwa Kisiwani ruins & Songo Mnara ruins. Tide times will decide what you visit first

Snorkelling at the lagoon
01:00 PM – Bobbing on the water tuck into a tasty picnic lunch by the lagoon. Keep an eye out for dolphins, and a wide range of birds, while you spend the afternoon exploring these beautiful water ways, above and below the surface.
05:00 PM – Leisurely make your way back to the hostel, absorbing the sights and sounds of the ocean.
06:00 PM – Arrive back at the beach just as the sun is setting.
07:30 PM - Tuck into a tasty dinner, chatting to fellow guests
09:00 PM – Retire for the night, cherishing the memories of your adventure
Day 3: Relax & Recharge
08:00 AM – Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, spend the morning snoozing in a hammock, relaxing with a book in the shade or taking a dip in the ocean.
01:00 PM – A family-style lunch will be served for guests who have booked it.
02:00 PM – Take a stroll along the beach, perhaps visit the nearby fishing village or take a walk into Kilwa Masoko. There are bikes for hire if you prefer. Enjoy the slow pace of coastal life
06:00 PM – Back at the hostel, watch the sky turn shades of red and gold as the sun sets. The perfect time to sit on our rooftop and enjoy a sundowner.
07:30 PM - Tuck into a tasty dinner, chatting to fellow guests
09:00 PM – Retire for the night
Day 4: Departure
8:00 AM – After a leisurely breakfast, prepare for your journey back to Dar es Salaam, filled with unforgettable memories.

We’ve got a mix of private rooms and mixed gender dorms, all designed for comfort and
cool coastal breezes. Expect fans, mosquito nets, and a peaceful night’s sleep.
No AC — just sea air, ceiling fans, and the natural rhythm of coastal life. We keep things
eco-friendly and true to the “slow” spirit. We only have AC in the Jimbiza bungalow.
Yes, we have Wi-Fi in the main areas. It’s good for messages and travel planning — but
don’t expect city speeds. Kilwa runs on coastal time.
No — showers are refreshing and cool only.
Yes! Our beachside bar and restaurant serve up fresh, local dishes, and cold drinks with a
view of the ocean. The rooftop is perfect for sunset sessions. Please note all meals are
family style and must be ordered in advance.
Absolutely — breakfast is available daily, and is included in your stay. Think fresh fruit,
yoghurt, or your choice of eggs.

We’re in Kilwa Masoko, right on the beach — just a few minutes from town.
You can take the bus (about 6–7 hours), drive yourself, or ask us to help arrange a private

island tours, and transfers to or from Dar, Selous, or other destinations.
