Into the Wild: Two Nights on the Rufiji
2 nights · Bush tent · Full board · From $395pp (non-resident)
Sunset boat safari on the Rufiji River, Full-day game drive, and bush picnic. Park fees included.

Two nights in the Selous — one of Africa's wildest and least-visited places. You'll spend a full day tracking game through Nyerere National Park and an evening on the Rufiji River watching hippos, crocs, and the sun go down. It's a proper introduction to the bush without the luxury lodge price tag. Park fees included, transfers not.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Camp & Sunset Boat Safari
12:00 PM – Arrive at camp in time for a relaxed lunch by the river.
1:00 PM – Check in and settle into your bush tent. The afternoon is yours — the pool, a sofa, or just watching whatever wanders past camp.
4:00 PM – Head out on a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River, just outside the park boundary. Expect hippos in numbers, crocodiles on the banks, and a serious amount of birdlife. The boat stops at a sandbank for sundowners as the light drops.
6:30 PM – Back to camp as dusk settles.
7:30 PM – Dinner, family-style, shared with fellow guests.
9:00 PM – Fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive & Bush Picnic
6:00 AM – Early breakfast before the heat kicks in.
7:00 AM – Full day game drive into Nyerere National Park. The landscapes shift as you go deeper — open plains, riverine forest, floodplains. Your guide will track elephant, lion, giraffe, and buffalo, and if conditions are right, the park's famous wild dog packs.
10:00 AM – Tea and coffee stop in a shaded spot in the bush.
1:00 PM – Relaxed bush picnic lunch prepared by your guide. Stretch out on mats and cushions while surrounded by the wilderness. Optional, but highly recommended: take a short safari snooze in the shade.
Afternoon – Continue exploring the park at a relaxed pace, stopping for wildlife sightings and scenic viewpoints along the way.
5:30 PM – Return to camp as the sun begins to set over the Rufiji River.
7:30 PM – Dinner. The day tends to generate good conversation.
9:00 PM – Overnight in camp.
Day 3: Departure
8:00 AM – Have a leisurely breakfast before you hit the road back to Dar, wishing you never had to leave.
